Mark

Mark Boyd is the son of missionaries David and Crissie Boyd. He was born in the Netherlands in the town of Eindhoven. He lived most of his life in the town of Veghel, where his parents have planted a church. Mark was six when he was saved. His parents found out about a lie that he had told at school. His dad said that the lie hurt him, but more importantly hurt God. He then shared with Mark that his lie was a sin, and that he was a sinner. Mark trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior that day. He was baptized when he was 14 and then dedicated his life to any service for God.
Mark became more involved with his parents’ ministry and started teaching, preaching, and falling in love with ministry. He attended a public high school in Holland and after graduating he came to the States to study at Faith Baptist Bible College. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies with an emphasis in Greek and Counseling. During college Mark became burdened for church planting. He then attended the Seminary at Faith and received a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. While in seminary, Mark saw a video produced by BMM and felt the Lord calling him into church planting specifically in Europe. Through a survey trip taken in 2008, God clearly directed Mark and his wife to the country of Germany
He has been involved at his sending church in many ways. Mark was the song leader as well as the teacher for the high school Sunday School class. He also filled the pulpit when necessary. Mark has filled the pulpit at several Iowa churches as well.

Leslie

Leslie (Burger) Boyd grew up in the small town in Russell, Iowa, and attended the First Baptist Church there. She was saved at the age of five after her first day of Joy Club. Leslie expressed an interest in knowing how to become saved to her pastor’s wife, and was saved that same day. She was baptized at the age of ten, and dedicated her life to the Lord shortly after while attending a camp. At the age of twelve Leslie was challenged by a speaker in her home church to consider missions. She went forward that day and told the Lord that she was willing to go wherever He might send her.
Leslie graduated from Russell Community High School. In order to get missionary training, she attended Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa. There she received a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Missions. As a part of her requirements, she went on a MAP, or missionary apprenticeship program, and spent six weeks in Germany. While there she spent time learning from Todd and Dawn Daily, church planters in southern Germany. God used this experience to show her that He did want her in missions and to develop in her an interest in church planting.
She has been involved in children’s church, in the nursery, and she sing special music. As time permitted while on deputation she would lead a Ladies Bible Study on Saturday mornings at our sending church, Fellowship Baptist Church in Des Moines, Iowa.
